Raised in Berkeley, I have been a licensed building contractor (with a plumbing and solar contractor specialty license) for over 35 years, with projects mostly in the East Bay. (Truly, I have been a lifelong builder. My career began when I was three years old, rearranging the living room furniture and dragging support structures in from the dining room to create elaborate but seismically unsound structures, draping everything with blankets and piling pillows inside! I have been building ever since.) Over the past three decades my work has spanned new custom houses, multi-unit housing and commercial projects, residential additions and extensive remodels, and kitchen and bathroom remodels.
I find the most exciting part of building is transforming a vision and plan into reality. From initial planning to project completion, I use my experience and expertise to foster a collaborative, positive process for my clients. My goal is to effectuate my clients’ vision through quality work executed within their budget and time needs. I especially enjoy sharing the excitement of my clients and their families as their plan takes shape through construction to completion. Before you know it—you are enjoying your brand new space!
Some say that a building contractor is only as good as the people he works with. Over the years I have developed strong and lasting relationships with architects, engineers, city building officials and the trades-people who team with me to build each project. My core building crew has been with me for over twelve years, and I have worked even longer with many of the carpenters and tradespeople who partner with us on larger projects. We employ a professional, cooperative and team oriented approach on every project.
My excellent communication and organizational skills are key to ensure quality work on budget and on schedule. I am committed to you and your project and care about your project as much as you do.
